[Thomas is the son of Geoffrey Norris (1559-1609) and wife, Mary MYLES (Miles)]. Thomas Norris is said to have followed William Claiborne in his trading expeditions up the Chesapeake Bay and then settled in St. Mary's Co. MD. as a Protestant planter. As a trader, he went back and forth between Maryland and Virginia.
